Book reveals a life of change

By Hollie Harris

BOBBY ‘Precious’ Wilson is a name known well throughout the Noosa community for his many years of mentoring street kids, soldiers and thousands of others in need by teaching, training and just caring and helping.
After 25 years in the making, Bobby Wilson proudly presents his enlightened memoir A Fire Tonight at a very special book launch at The J.
His book is a story of a frightened youngster’s fears and dreams and following his dreams into manhood.
He writes of people who helped and guided him, of sports people, of fight people, of gym and hotel people and passionately describes his time of living on the streets.
Many other hidden secrets from his former life that he has never shared with anyone and lessons of life through sports people, gangsters, jokers, scoundrels and angels promise to deliver an honest and inspiring read.
Bobby led the Australian Boxing team in Jakarta at the Presidents Cup in 1987 as captain and he took home a silver medal after his fight against the Russian world champion.
These days, he is the proud owner of Awesome Wilson Boxing in Rene Street, where he and wife Katrina are folks who mean a lot to those who know them and recieve the highest of allocades from those who attend the gym.
The gym’s slogan is ‘Lives Change Here’ and with responses like ’the most life-changing experience’, ’helped me to achieve things I never thought possible’ and ’words can’t describe how awesome’, it is easy to see this is a special man with a great talent.
Bobby’s book A Fire Tonight is the story of a man who was steadfast in his childhood with a promise to follow his dreams whatever the cost.
Join him as he launches his first and very intimate novel at The J Noosa, on 5 December. Entry is free with drinks are available and book purchases and signings at the event are encouraged.
