SUNSHINE Coast festival mainstay OKA is back to send the unsuspecting crowd into a hypnotic frenzy at The V Room in early December.
OKAs Indigenous connection to place and country to create their signature feel-good Australian earth sound results in an irresistible blend of influences spanning house, big beat, reggae-dub, roots, jazz and world music.
Born from a relaxed street jam over 15 years ago, OKA continues to bring the joy, fluidity and simplicity of their positive music to a much larger, growing audience on a global stage, independently selling over 160,000 albums.
Sharing the stage with inspirational acts such as Arrested Development, Finnley Quay, Xavier Rudd, Kinnie Starr and Digging Roots, OKA has appeared in festival line-ups throughout Australia, Asia and North America and Canada.
Their mix of dance and down tempo electro beats marinated in the mystic spiritual traditions of the Dreamtime has gained them a strong reputation worldwide and a loyal following.
Described as a mash up of Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder and the chemical brothers on acid playing in a steaming rainforest with a didgeridoo, OKA will put on yet another unmissable show on Friday 9 December at The V Room (Villa Noosa), at 8pm.
Tickets are $20/25 from www.moshtix.com.au
