Finding your inner artist

By Hollie Harris

THE Tinbeerwah Art Group is seeking new members to join their Thursday morning class.
They are inviting all painters and would-be painters interested in joining an art group next year to an information morning on next Thursday 8 December from 10am – 12 noon at Tinbeerwah Hall.
They have approximately 40 members who choose to paint on either Thursday or Friday from 9am – 12noon during school term times. The group average is about 15 people each morning.
They encourage artists of all abilities, with members ranging from complete beginners to award-winning artists. They paint in a variety of mediums -acrylics, watercolours, oils, pastels, charcoal and pencil, collage and mixed media and members are encouraged to develop their own unique styles.
Besides the tutored classes members have access to and can borrow from an extensive library of art books, magazines and DVDs.
They also organise bus trips to visit local, regional and Brisbane galleries and once a year, those members who wish to exhibit their work can participate in an annual art show which is a great opportunity to raise funds for local charities.
If you would like to paint in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with like-minded people go to the free information morning and enjoy morning tea and meet some members and tutors. View some artwork and find out more about how you can join the Tinbeerwah Art Group.
Tinbeerwah Hall, Corner of Sunrise and Noosa-Cooroy Road, Tinbeerwah Thursday 8 December 10am-12noon. Inquiries can be made to Jan Cooke on 5473 0235 or Avril Hare on 5448 1448.
