As the legends of rugby league limber up for the big event this Saturday night, many of our local players are gearing up for their big game in Saturday’s special event.
The Legends of League is finally here and promises to offer spectators a fantastic day of back to back games all day long, finishing in the evening with the big one – Australia vs local legends.
If you’re keen on getting in on the action yourself and don’t mind a bit of pain, then bootcamp might be just up your alley.
On Saturday from 8.30am, you can join in on a very unique opportunity to take a free bootcamp session held by league legend Robbie O’Davis.
Robbie played for Newcastle Knights, Queensland and Australian Rugby League teams.
Everyone is welcome to go along and feel the burn with Robbie and kick-start the day of events with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, thanks to Anytime Fitness Cooroy.
The session will cater for all fitness levels and is open to everyone.
Just bring a water bottle and towel if you want to train.
Sessions will run for 30-45 minutes and kids are welcome.
No bookings are necessary, just turn up and enjoy at Anytime Fitness, 13 Kauri Street, Cooroy.
After the bootcamp, head down and enjoy the day in Tewantin’s home of the Pirates for some fantastic back-to-back games kicking off at noon.
The big evening event will be 20 former Australian Legends of League such as Petero Civoniceva, Robbie O’Davis, Nathan Blacklock, John Hopoate, Cliff Lyons, Stu Kelly, Scott Prince, Ashley Harrison and many more, who will visit Noosa to play against our very own Noosa All Stars.
This event will also give back to our community by supporting local charity organisation and disability support service, Sunshine Butterflies.
Twenty lucky Sunshine Butterflies members who are living with a disability have been invited to lead the Australian players out onto the field at 7.30pm.
Each member of the local charity organisation will be given the jersey from the player they led out on the field.
Watching the Aussie champions battle it out with our local legends at 7.30pm will be something to remember, so be sure to secure your tickets.
This incredible fun family event is supported by the local community and you can pre-purchase tickets at Tewantin Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank and Cooroy Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank and save on gate ticket prices.
Tickets are also available at the gate at the Noosa Pirates Rugby League Club, 31 Butler Street, Tewantin on the day.
