Pomona banks on Bendigo

By Margaret Maccoll

Pomona celebrated the opening of its only banking service, the Bendigo Bank last week.
A ceremony to mark the occasion was attended by more than 80 community representatives including Mayor Tony Wellington, State Member for Noosa Glen Elmes and Bendigo Bank State Community Manager Kate Wakeling.
Senior branch manager, Geoff Edwards said the Pomona Community Bank branch offered a full range of banking services – transaction and lending facilities, home loans, personal loans, business lending and credit cards.
“There’s also opportunity to book in financial planning and business banking appointments, and having its own ATM is also a real plus for locals,” he said.
“We’re delighted to be able to deliver what the Pomona community asked for and want this purpose-built expansion to grow from strength to strength.
“It’s already been a great addition to the town and we want to continue our positive effect in the Noosa hinterland by putting our profits straight back into our community.”
Located at 3 Station Street, the branch services Pomona and the hinterland three days a week every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-3pm. As the branch continues to grow, so too will its opening hours.
For more information, phone the Pomona Community Bank branch on 5485 1786.
