When the Noosa Long Weekend festival became Noosa Alive, they promised us 10 magical days and nights of music, theatre, food and fun. Here’s proof that they’re doing just that!
Kicking off tomorrow night, 21 July and right through to July 30 Noosa Alive begins their brilliant assault on our senses with unmissable acts.
Luke Kennedy launches the festival accompanied by seven of Australia’s finest musicians. Luke slides effortlessly through musical styles as he takes you from pub rocker to the 10 tenors, to grand finalist on The Voice. Performing His Voice at The J Theatre this Friday 21 July, at 8pm, Luke’s superb voice is something not to be missed.
Lovers of Ballet will be treated to a superb program of classical, contemporary and neo-classical ballet performed by Queensland Ballet. This intimate experience is on this Saturday 22 July, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
With the most successful debut album in Australian musical history, Lior burst on to the Australian music scene some years back with ‘Autumn Flow.’ Don’t miss Lior’s much loved classic ‘This old love’ and a host of other Lior favourites. This stunning performance comes to The J this Sunday 23 July, at 7.30pm.
A festival highlight and a ‘must’ for serious music lovers, Opera Australia are bringing Mozart’s brilliant Opera The Marriage Of Figaro to the Noosa Leisure Centre for one performance only. Next Tuesday, 25 July, 7.30pm, the Noosa Leisure Centre, Wallace Drive, Noosaville, will come alive with the Downton Abbey of Opera but a lot more fun. Expect stunning costumes, a fabulous set and a chorus of local school kids accompanying some of Australia’s finest singers. If you’ve never been to the Opera, this is the perfect introduction.
Matthew Mitcham’s personal journey from Olympic Diving Gold, to cabaret star, plus the highs and lows in between is all wrapped up in one stunning performance – Matthew Mitcham Cabaret! This all-singing, all-dancing production is full of twists and turns … a perfect 10. Catch the double bill on Thursday, 7.30pm, at The J.
Naomi Price, stars in this ‘must see’ live musical event of the year. It’s a fantastical tale about the women who inspired the Beatles’ greatest hits … and they’re all there, including ‘Lucy in the sky with diamonds’, ‘Eleanor Rigby’, ‘Penny Lane’ and more. Lady Beatle is on Saturday 29 July, at 3pm, at ‘the J’ Theatre.
The Rococo Beach Club Marquee brings a dynamic Latin beach club atmosphere and four full days of all-inclusive cabaret, dinner and shows, casual beach parties, Broadway on the Beach, Miss Hummingbird ‘The Ultimate Ladies Lunch’, Flamenco Fire and Salsa by the Sea … a fitting finale to Noosa Alive.
