Plant fair will make dad’s day

“Flowers are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
There will so much on offer at this year’s Noosa Botanic Gardens Father’s Day Plant Fair.
Meet John of Robertson Orchids, supplier of quality orchids to the public and to specialists since 1980, specialises in Paphiopedilum, Phalaenopsis and Cattleya orchids. At the Plant Fair he will also be selling African Violets.
Wendy Britton Ceramics shall be at the plant fair with her ‘feathered friends’, ‘banksias’ and other interesting works. Be sure you check out her creative and fun works.
Eumundi Roses grow and sell their own flowers, herbs and seedlings. “Real roses, real perfume” traditional cottage flowers, brightly coloured bulbs, sunflowers, lillies, irisis, natives and more. Experience their spring offering at the plant fair.
And when you are ready to just relax and have a natter, there are plenty of food and beverage options to choose from. Or bring a picnic.
A number of dedicated plant sellers will also be at this event to offer collectable rare plants; natives for the garden and habitat; tropical exotics; edible herbs, vegetables and fruit trees.
Garden presentations with guest speakers:
* 10am – Growing bromeliads with Nigel Thomson.
* 11am – Orchid culture with John Green.
* Noon – Home-made organic pest control with Leonie Shanahan.
* 1pm – Composting – what to add and not to add with Paul Plant.
* 2pm – Propagation – how to make stem cuttings with Stephen Flood.
Support the Botanic Gardens by attending this event. Sales from the Friends stall will be invested back into the gardens.
For dad’s there will be vintage classic cars and lots of other interesting items at the event.
This is a free event to attend. No entrance fee. Speaker sessions, fun and smiles are free. Plants and products for sale can be purchased.
