Teagan’s our golden girl

Teagan McGowan was a standout performer at the Queensland Short Course Championships at Chandler swimming pool in Brisbane this month.
The Good Shepherd Aquatics member took home gold medals in the 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke plus three silver medals in 100m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly. Teagan also broke the 11-year-old girls Queensland record in the 50m backstroke with a time of 30.74 seconds.
Teagan was one of 17 swimmers to attend the competition from the club.
GSA swimmers achieved a total of 44 personal bests.
Arna Couper gained four bronze medals in the 50m butterfly, 400m freestyle, 200m backstroke and 200m individual medley.
Lauren Maguire gained two bronze medals in the 800m and 400m freestyle and Fyn Sharpley received a bronze in the 50m freestyle.
Coaches Brian Stehr and Peter Diamond currently have a number of athletes training toward the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in their Diamond Swim High Performance Squad.
