Verna Hewitt from Music2Grow held a Playdate fund-raiser on Tuesday 19 September at the Cooroy Library and donated 100 per cent of the profits to Sunshine Coast Basket Brigade, which aims to reach and help those – young and old – who are often forgotten by society. The day’s result will be a great help towards raising funds to meet the brigade’s target of 300 baskets this Christmas. Some eight families attended and enjoyed beach-themed activities including hula, building sandcastles, relaxing to gentle beach sounds and experiencing the simple joy of making music together. Another musical Playdate is planned for next term.
