THE highly anticipated film Calvary will open at Noosa 5 Cinemas today, and here’s your chance to win a double pass.
The story goes that Father James Lavelle, played by Brendan Gleeson, is a good priest who is faced with sinister and troubling circumstances brought about by a mysterious member of his parish.
Although he continues to comfort his own fragile daughter Fiona, played by Kelly Reilly, and reach out to help members of his church with their various scurrilous moral – and often – comic problems, he feels sinister and troubling forces closing in, and begins to wonder if he will have the courage to face his own personal Calvary.
After he is threatened during a confession, Father James must battle the dark forces closing in around him.
The all-star cast includes Chris O’Dowd, Kelly Reilly, Dylan Moran and Aiden Gillen, in what critics have described as the best black comedy film of 2014.
