Gents take a vintage ride

By Margaret Maccoll

Noosa’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was a great success on Sunday, bringing together almost 300 riders and raising about $30,000.
Noosa ride organiser Cameron MacGowan said it was a good, safe ride and while it was a bit hot to be wearing a suit, the debonair outfits grabbed people’s attention.
Cameron praised the police who assisted with traffic, volunteers who helped out and the riders.
“Everyone behaved in a gentlemanly manner,” he said.
The worldwide event brings together riders on vintage style motorcycles passing through more than 600 cities in a spectacular parade to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and mental health programs on behalf of official charity partner, the Movember Foundation.
People can still donate to the cause at www.gentlemansride.com and click on the Sunshine Coast ride.
