Tales of Noosa

Noosa photographer and podcaster Yenny Stromgren is shining a light on Noosa locals through her community-based podcast show Noosa Stories.
Originally from Sweden, Yenny moved to Australia in 1998 to study photography then stayed and worked in Melbourne as a photographer for 10 years.
She began recording conversations during photographic sessions, turning them into a podcast called Everyday Light Warriors.
“I realised through the Everyday Light Warriors that the true heart of a community is in the emotional connectedness of its people,” she said.
She has since set up a second podcast, Noosa Stories.
Noosa Stories is where business, beach and community meet.
“It’s an engaging, entertaining and uplifting audio exploration of the real-life stories behind Noosa locals; from funny anecdotes of ‘random people on the street’, to the insightful knowhow of our business people, and heart-warming stories from volunteers in the community.
“The podcast show asks residents the questions we all have about living and working in and around Noosa … what does it really take to stay here? How do we thrive here? How can we make Noosa life even better?”
Yenny’s podcasts have gained so much attention, she began teaching others to podcast.
Last weekend she held a podcast workshop and hopes to help launch 20 more Noosa podcasters into the online audioscape by Christmas.
