Red man’s yellow truck

In the month before Christmas, Santa will swap his one-horse open sleigh for a big yellow firetruck to help Tinbeerwah Rural Fire Brigade with their Christmas drive for The Salvation Army.
For the fifth year the Tinbeerwah Rural Fire Brigade will drive the streets of the area on Wednesday 29 November to collect non-perishable pantry items while Santa hands out lollies to the kids.
RFB secretary Nina Burkhardt said they hoped to collect as many donations as possible to help families have a brighter Christmas.
“The previous years have been very successful and the brigade members enjoy participating in this event which assists the community in a different way and The Salvation Army has been really appreciative of everyone’s support in the past.”
The drive will start at 5.30pm from Tinbeerwah Rural Fire Station on Sunrise Road, Tinbeerwah and will proceed along the following roads:
* From 5.30pm Sunrise Road, Pacific View Drive, Smiths Road, Tinbeerwah;
* From 5.50pm Kingsgate Drive, Patterson Drive, Tinbeerwah;
* From 6.10pm Swift Drive, Lake McDonald Drive, Cooroy;
* From 6.30pm cnr Forest Acres Drive and Lake McDonald Drive, Kelly Court, Palm Springs Lane, Forest Acres Roundabout to end of drive;
* From 6.50pm Koala Crescent, Ironbark Court, Forest Acres; and
* From 7.15pm cnr Forest Acres Drive and Lake McDonald Drive, Forest Acres
Highland Drive, Lake McDonald (end of collection).
For other residents not in the selected streets, please contact the Tinbeerwah Fire Station to assist on 5442 6576 to arrange a suitable time to drop goods off at the station by no later than 1 December.
