The recent record sale by Noosa’s Tom Offermann Real Estate of former tennis champion Pat Rafter and his wife Lara’s Sunshine Beach mansion, which was listed for $18m, has been eclipsed by the unconditional sale of an absolute beachfront private estate at 21-23 Webb Road, Sunshine Beach. It was listed for $22m.
Tom Offermann Real Estate principal Tom Offermann and listing agent Nic Hunter were tight lipped about the price citing confidentiality as paramount for their often well-known, high-end clients. “We respect their privacy,” says Tom, “and would never divulge any details especially price prior to settlement. Naturally everyone is curious. After-all property sales such as this, are not every day transactions.”
The grand seven bedroom residence with interiors by multi-award winning international designer David Hicks, and an exterior reminiscent of a lavish resort, sits on a 3,595m2 site with nothing but Sunshine Beach and the Coral Sea in front. It has smashed all records for Sunshine Coast property, and arguably Queensland.
Noosa and environs is anything but a locally driven real estate market. Many think of it as a northern suburb of Brisbane and Sydney even ‘Toorak in shorts’ for Melburnians based on the large number of investors and sea-changers. “Add expats from London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore who have been very active in the past year,” says Tom who now has a Brisbane-based agent. “Running an agency with myriad clients from all over the world creates different challenges compared to typical domestic agency, but it’s always exciting, working with marketing strategies to benefit our clientele, wherever they’re located in the world.”
