A group of 14 women took part in Noosa Council’s first of three workshops provided under a grant from Zero Emissions Noosa (ZEN).Bike On director Tracey Wyatt said the basic cycle skills workshop aimed to build confidence to assist them to ride more frequently.
“The women showed great comradery and loved the inclusive feel of the workshop with many making plans to meet again to ride together over the coming weeks,” she said.
For many it was the first time they had been to Girraween Sports Complex and they were extremely happy with the criterium cycle track and the safe riding area it provided for further practice.
Participant Maureen Milne said it was a huge confidence builder.
Future sessions include a free Social Guided Ride on Sat 28 April coinciding with the start of National Bike Week (28April-7May) and a Bike Maintenance Workshop on Saturday 26 May.
