Lifestyle for tech heads

Noosa Council is hoping to lure tech workers and digital entrepreneurs to its Peregian Beach Digital Hub with the attraction of Noosa’s enviable lifestyle, surfing beaches, popular national park, restaurants and cafes, closeness to the Sunshine Coast Airport and warm climate.
The Hub is due to open in May and is calling for tenants such as technology entrepreneurs that are looking to employ local software developers, designers and other technologists.
Digital Hub director Chris Boden, former Lonely Planet innovation head and founder of Create Noosa, said it was the lifestyle of Noosa that attracted he and his family from Silicon Valley in the US.
Chris will be providing entrepreneurial support to tenants of the Hub which has as its brief to host mentoring and skills development programs to “help build Noosa’s technology talent and foster a culture of collaboration and collegial support”.
Council officers said there had been a lot of interest in the hub and a high demand was expected for tenders for tenancies and registration.
The building is designed to accommodate a mix of technology enterprises occupying their own private space as well as individual technologists or small teams wanting to co-work in a shared office space environment.
The tender closes Tuesday 17 April.
