IN A Tewantin home studio, two artists are hard at work preparing paintings for a silent auction to raise funds for Katie Rose Cottage hospice.
Artists Trish MacDonald and Libby Bowen said they wanted to show their appreciation for the work that Katie Rose Cottage does, its volunteers and staff, “who offer kindness, comfort and relief to all guests who stay or visit.”
Libby and Trish will exhibit a number of painting at Local Labels, Bay Village, Noosa Heads, from 6 September to 17 September.
A silent auction will run for the duration of the exhibition with the winning bids announced at a champagne ceremony on 17 September, from 5pm.
The two artists have differing styles but depict the experience of life – its beginning, ending, surprises and beauty – in their art work.
Libby likes to focus upwards with tropical scenes featuring small birds, hidden creatures, fruits and flowers, while Trish’s gaze is downward with leaves on the ground, and the beauty that can be found under trees.
The exhibition can be viewed at Local Labels, Bay Village, Hastings Street, Noosa Heads.
