The WINDO Social Innovators Networking Breakfast saw like-minded innovators mingle on Wednesday 6 March.
Attendees heard the story of savvy business and life partners Emma-Kate Rose (Chair of Queensland Social Enterprise Council) and Robert Pekin (former dairy farmer) of well known Brisbane social enterprise, Food Connect.
Emma-Kate and Rob are on a mission to democratize the foodchain. They recently raised over $2 million with their community through an equity crowdfunding campaign to buy their warehouse and become Australia’s first community-owned local food hub.
This breakfast event was followed by new their Community Leadership Conference, ‘When Sleeping Women Wake Mountains Move.’
