Waste watcher and Noosa Councillor Joe Jurisevic has welcomed the return of bulk rubbish kerbside collections to Noosa.
Noosa Council’s infrastructure committee, chaired by Deputy Mayor Bob Abbot, recommended the return of the service, and the full council has given approval.
The collection will run over a seven-week period from late April to early June.
Councillor Jurisevic is also co-ordinator of the local Clean-Up Australia Day campaign and he opposed the decision of the Sunshine Coast Council to scrap bulk collection as a cost-cutting measure four years ago.
“It’s no coincidence that illegal dumping around Noosa Shire has increased dramatically since that decision was made.”
