Touch delivers mixed bag

By ANITA ANDERSON

A COOL breeze was no deterrent for some red-hot touch action last Wednesday afternoon.
A mixed bag of results with great sportsmanship and plenty of laughter was the order of the day.
First game up in the under-10 division saw GSLC (boys) just take the win in a thriller against Aussie Rebels who produced a mighty comeback after being down by a couple of touchdowns at half time. Levi, Riley and Armin had great games for their teams.
Pink Storm proved too strong for GSLC (girls) this week with Ella M, Grace and Elle U. showing loads of talent.
Blazers went down fighting against Screaming Iguanas. Pedro, Charlie and Cohen displayed great class out on the field.
An epic clash in the under 12s between Saints and Vipers eventually had the Saints in front by one touchdown at the siren with Tamatoa, Lachlan, Will B. and Dylan directing the play around the paddock.
Other under-12 games had That Cool Team having the edge over Devils with Sophie, Jacob and Ned giving standout performances while Banana Splits came away with the points against Purple Storm. Ruby, Monique and Zoe had first rate games.
In the under-14 division the encounter between NDSHS 9s and Inferno had Inferno finishing in front in a nail biter. Jasmine, Mitch, Tom and Lily all played strongly.
GSLC (girls) never gave up in their battle with the GSLC (boys) with Rueben, Luke and Olivia showing great skill.
NDSHS 8s (mixed) had a win against Sunshine Rebels in a match that went down to the wire. Great play was shown by Giverny, Tyla, Lili-Rose and Michael.
STCC Pansies had a convincing win against the STCC (girls). Pip Tia and Kalani played well whilst Cooper and Jack showcased their talents.
Average Joe’s had a win over SBSHS (girls) with Glenn, Abby and Tristan having stellar games.
Until the next touchdown…
