World-class recording studio opens in Noosa

Noosa’s aspiring musicians will have a new outlet to release their creativity, when a brand-new high-end recording studio opens its doors in Noosa next month after years of planning.

To celebrate the launch, 822 Studio is kicking off with two community education courses for those interested in song-writing and getting hands-on studio recording experience.

Located in Noosaville, adjoining the Noosa COC, the studio is the result of extensive research visits to top US recording studios and a meticulous construction process to make this a world-class music creation venue, incorporating the finest acoustic treatments and the latest recording technology.

822 Studio Marketing Manager, Nick Humbert said that Noosa is such a beautiful and inspiring place with an amazing creative vibe.

“So, it seems only right that it finally has a top professional recording studio that can accommodate all productions – from solo singers and small bands to full orchestras and choirs,” Nick said.

“We want this space to appeal to both interstate and international visiting artists coming to create in Noosa, but we also want to make it a community facility for local talent.

“To that end we have some great events being run on a non-profit basis”

Two such events start in August. The first on Saturday 10 August is an Introduction to Recording Music in a Professional Studio lead by one of the studio’s engineers and top film and music industry veteran, Daniel Brown.

Dan will cover everything an aspiring recording artist or engineer needs to know about the basics in the studio from terminology and procedures, getting set up, signal flow to recording gear and using microphones and monitors, plus of course basic editing and mixing. The course is $99 per person and there are just 10 places to ensure everyone gets hands-on tuition.

The second event is a course for aspiring songwriters who want to turn that tune in their head into the next big hit. Who better to show them how than award-winning songwriter and producer Jeff Crabtree, who’s worked with some of the biggest names in the business on over 120 albums, films and TV shows. Over three sessions on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 August, Jeff will reveal the secrets to successful songwriting: hooks, lyrics, grooves, collaboration, copyright and how the masters think – everything to get you started before you lay down your own platinum track. Tickets are $75 per person covering all sessions.

Information about the studio and the August courses can be found at www.822Studio.com or call 0420 514 780.
