New Irish bar on tap

By JONATHON HOWARD

THE popular Noosa Reef Hotel is undergoing major renovations downstairs, but upstairs remains open for business.
The seven-week renovation will see the downstairs bar, dance floor and seating areas converted into a Flanagan’s Irish Bar which will serve up Guinness and Kilkenny on tap.
Reef Hotel assistant manager Katie Stokell said it had nearly been a decade since the previous renovation.
“We’re creating a new and fresh atmosphere for patrons,” she said.
Ms Stokell said the new bar would include a stage for live acts and entertainment, as well as comfortable booths and a new dance floor and bar.
“The areas will be split into three main sections – the Victoria Dublin Bar, Irish Country Cottage and Kerry Irish Brew House,” she said.
Ms Stokell stressed the Reef Hotel would remain open upstairs during the renovations.
“We remain open upstairs every day from 10am to 3.30am and downstairs will be open for Melbourne Cup (Tuesday 4 November),” she said.
