TEWANTIN State School students and their families celebrated the school’s annual spring fair in style last Wednesday, 17 September.
The fair lasts about half the school day and includes a range of fundraising initiatives to assist the school and Parents and Citizens’ committee.
The school’s principal Neil Jenkins said the day was a huge success and raised more than $20,000 in less than three hours
“Over 100 prizes were donated from businesses in our local community of which we are very appreciative,” Mr Jenkins said.
Mr Jenkins said more than 1000 people attended and all classes run a stall.
“We rely on the generosity of families and volunteers to make the day such a success,” he said.
“The P and C, staff and students did a terrific job in making the day so successful and the funds raised will go towards improving our school and its facilities including a $130,000 playground installed on the main oval this year.”
