JUNIOR golf enthusiasts from all over south-east Queensland converged on the Peregian Springs golf course to compete in the Junior Open.
It was tough competition for the juniors, with many locals turning out some great performances.
Local Hunter Eccelston, who plays at Peregian Springs Golf Club, shot a nett 74, which earned him runner-up in the under 17 division.
Peregian Springs Golf Club CEO Declan McCollam said the club was proud to host the Junior Open.
“We are doing everything we can to foster junior golf and to encourage children to learn to play and compete in golf,” he said.
“It is a sport for life. We are also encouraging more adults to take up the sport too. Our new Sunday Social Club is aimed at golfers of ages, gender and ability levels.”
