Razors are out

By JOLENE OGLE

SPM Law partner Michael Sobey doesn’t need much mo-tivation to throw away the razor for the month of November.
Now in his fifth ‘mo’ year, Michael will grow a moustache as part of the global men’s health movement and fund-raiser, Movember.
The Movember Foundation encourages all men to grow a moustache throughout the month of November, plus raise funds for research and increase awareness of prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
Michael said its important men and women get involved in the world-wide awareness campaign, as many diseases can affect families.
“Like many people, cancer and depression have affected my family and close friends,” he said.
“I believe getting these issues out in the open and being discussed is vitally important, as is raising funds to research ways to combat them.”
To help raise funds, Michael will host a charity lunch at Gaston Bar and Grill, Noosa Heads, on 21 November, from 12.30pm.
Tickets are $100 per person and includes a three-course meal and two-hour drink package and are available now through the SPM Law team. Phone 5440 4800 or email sroughly@spmlaw.com.au to book your table.
