NOOSA Police have extended their deepest gratitude towards Noosa local and Main Beach icon Bill Watson, who donated a new beach quad bike to local police.
The vehicle will allow Senior Constable Pierre Senekal, who is assigned to Main Beach, easy access across the soft sand and provide a greater criminal deterrent for would be bag snatchers this summer.
Bill is an iconic figure in Hastings Street having worked the beach for more than 45years-ago originally selling oranges from a hessian bag.
The 64-year-old donated the police vehicle last week and hoped it would be put to good use protecting beach goers.
