LOCALS Adrian and Deb Spelt have created blended extra virgin olive oil to rival the oils of the world, and it’s blended right here in Noosa.
Adrian and Deb have a long history in the olive oil industry, winning awards for their oil as far back as 2006, and have watched the product progress from a niche Australian hobby to a vibrant industry.
Adrian said he has worked with over 17 different varieties of olives and has experience in growing, pressing, infusing and blending extra virgin olive oil.
The olives used to create Blend are bought from farmers throughout Australia where the climate suits olives, including a farm in Margaret River where Adrian used to grow olives.
“You can’t grow olives in Queensland, but you can sure blend them,” he said.
Australian olive oil has been described as “raw yet beautifully vibrant and fresher in taste than most olive oils found in the world”.
In the pursuit of excellence, Deb and Adrian have released the Blend extra virgin olive oil range, which showcases superbly blended oils.
Blended olive oil can be used in all forms of cooking, even with ice-cream, and comes in a variety of styles including lemon pressed oil, chilli oil and medium blend.
