Taste of diversity

Waiter Race organiser Ruby from Ipazzi Ristorante shows how to carry a tray.

ARCADIA Street Noosa Junction is set to be transformed on Saturday 15 November with the return of the Junction Flava Food and Wine Street Fest.
Event organisers said this year promised more food, more fun, more value and more ‘flava’ with even more Junction foodies coming on board.
Starting from 11am, there’ll be mouthwatering food and flavours from around the world, with 20 of the Junction’s favourite foodies and new soon-to-be favourites, showcasing their fare.
There’ll be something for everyone with sweet and savoury flavours from around the globe. Tempt your tastebuds with tastes from Thailand, Spain, Italy, France, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Australia – including spit roasts and succulent seafood.
Of course, good food is thirsty work and the team from Shades Wine Bar and Village Bicycle will be serving up wines and craft beers.
Back by popular demand is the Quencher’s pedal powered juices. Event-goers are encouraged to do their bit for the environment by generating enough energy to produce their own thirst-quenching beverage.
Noosa Junction Association Inc president Carole Tretheway said keeping the day affordable for locals was a priority and food tickets would be on sale from the booth and roving ticket sellers from just $3, with the average food and drink prices around $6.
“It’s a day to celebrate the ecclectic food and beverage offer of the Junction. With so many established and new eateries here now, we’re reminding locals of the quality and variety they have right on their doorstep,” Carole said.
There will also be a free entertainment program catering for all ages, and families can bring a rug, sit back and enjoy the live music.
A highlight of the festival will be the return of the waiters’ race being organised by Ruby from Ipazzi Ristorante.
Talented waiters will test their skills against an obstacle course, attempting to deliver drinks to their customers without spilling a drop.
The Junction Flava Food and Wine Street Festival is on Saturday 15 November, from 11am to 5pm at Arcadia Street, Noosa Junction.
