Quilts for kindness

Noosa Arts and Crafts members are well known for their talent and creativity in their chosen art or craft, but they have now put their considerable skills into kindness.

The quilting and knitting group members formed their own kindness collective by pooling their expertise and get busy sewing and knitting for others in need and now have a large amount of quality, handcrafted and practical items to send to those in the Lismore community who need a helping hand after losing their homes.

They have sewn many quilts and knitted socks, beanies, throws and so much more. There are even a few trauma teddies added for the children.

President Gabi Dick said: “ Our members have really worked hard on amassing this cornucopia of essential homewares and knitwear to send to Lismore. They have put their own creations on hold to focus on helping others – we are all so proud and grateful to them”.

These donations are going to a community hub called the Wardell Community Organised Resilience Effort (CORE) Hub.
