Smooth move to good health

IT’S all too common to ove-rindulge throughout the holiday season, which can leave your body feeling heavy and sluggish.
To help combat the bloat, Leslie O’Halloran of Foxtail Retreat shares her favourite smoothie recipe with Noosa Today readers.

Fresh juices and smoothies are digested and assimilated into the system very quickly to support your energy levels for hours, Leslie said.
A favourite recipe among Leslie’s clients is the almond smoothie. Everything in the smoothie can be found at your local health and well-being store or in your cupboard.

For the base you will need –
Half a cup almond meal
1 tbsp LSA
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 cup coconut water
2 cups filtered water or a handful of ice-cubes
You can also add whatever is in your cupboard or fridge for a powerhouse of nutrients.

Leslie recommends a handful of baby spinach, kale, one carrot, an apple, two teaspoons of chia seeds and/or frozen or fresh fruit such as mango and berries.
Adding an avocado or banana can help make the smoothie smoother in consistency.
Blend all the ingredients together in a blender and serve.
