THE first Cooroy Originals concert for 2015 is set to go off with a bang thanks to a stellar line-up and good weather predicted.
David Flower, Benjamin James Caldwell, Brothers and CKNU will take to the stage in Apex Park on Sunday 25 January, from 1pm.
Concert goers are in for a real treat with an eclectic mix of performers starting with David Flower, a singer songwriter with progressive roots, blues and reggae influences.
David is known for his high-energy, spontaneous and entertaining performances, along with musical talent in the form of the acoustic guitar, harmonica, and sitar, plus a stirring, dynamic voice.
Up next is Benjamin James Caldwell, who blends Americana, delta blues, outlaw country and the psychedelic folk revival of the seventies, culminating in heart-breaking vocals, stomping rhythms and a poetry of songwriting to match the best.
CKNU take on ‘fusion’ music which can be a tricky beast. Bands will often try to smash together a host of influences but it takes a special combination of talent and sheer fearlessness to actually pull it off; thankfully they are two things CKNU have in abundance.
This Brisbane-based five piece have become nothing short of thrilling to watch. Their music straddles everything from hip-hop to funk, soul, jazz and reggae, sometimes in just one song.
