Heinz has all the answers

By BRUCE BLAKEMORE

IN Noosa Table Tennis club’s annual four-person challenge, Heinz had a solid outfit and with Jonas in the number three position this week they were too strong for the Wizards, despite Kye being in his usual dangerous form.
Gamblers (H. Schwartz, A. Munro, J. Campbell, R. Byrne ) d Wizards (K. McDonald, R. Wheller, L. Gore, R. Yao ) 9/6.
Axemen took on the Tricksters and, while this was an impressive win by Jordan’s team on paper, the competition was much closer than it appeared with multiple five setters that sent the match late into the night.
Axemen (J. Brown, M. Clarke, C. Barry, W. Byrne ) d Tricksters (S. Ciercan, S. Gardner, A. Topaloglu, D. Shields ) 11/4.
We should keep an eye on the Blizzard as they have four tough competitors and are attracting early attention as possible favourites. In the match against the Bandits, Sunny unfortunately tried valiantly to play with a severe knee injury and perhaps should have spent the night on the couch.
Blizzard (R. Gore, T. Latimer, S. Campbell, A. Lawson ) d Bandits (B. Blakemore, J. Murphy, O. Estraviz, S. Lidden) 10/5.
The club is now based at the Noosa Leisure Centre at Wallace Park.
Competition is on Wednesday nights from 7pm, with social and practise on Sundays from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Social play is also held Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10 until noon.
