Hop aboard for Easter rides

GETTING around Noosa these Easter holidays is as easy and a hop, skip and a jump – hop on board the free holiday bus, skip the parking hassles and jump into all Noosa has to offer these holidays.
From Friday 3 April to Sunday 12 April, travel is free on all local Noosa Sunbus services with the exception of routes 620, 622, 630 and 631.
The Noosa Council, along with the Easter Bunny, officially launched the Easter Free Holiday Bus initiative last Wednesday and expect more than 32,000 people to use the service.
Council planning and infrastructure director Martin Drydale said the council was proud to offer the service in co-operation with Sunbus and Translink.
“The free holiday buses help reduce traffic congestion in Noosa and encourage residents and visitors to give public transport a try,” he said.
“Last Easter more than 32,000 people boarded the Free Holiday Buses, and more than 43,000 hopped on at Christmas which shows just how popular this initiative is.”

The free services include the following routes:
* Route 626 – Sunrise Beach to Tewantin.
* Route 627 – Sunshine Beach to Tewantin.
* Route 628 – Noosa Junction to Noosa Parklands.
* Route 629 – Noosa Junction to Tewantin.
* Route 632 – Cooran to Noosa Junction.

Plus the following additional temporary service:
* Route 064 – between Peregian Beach and Noosa Heads. For residents living between Peregian and Noosa, instead of catching Route 620, the temporary service, Route 064 (operated by Sunbus) is for you.
* The Boreen Point Flexilink service and Noosa Council Cabs services will also be free from 3 to 12 April (normal booking procedures apply).
Generally, a weekend timetable will operate on most public holidays.
Timetables are available at www.translink.com.au or call 13 12 30.
