Award floats our boat

Noosa Boathouse is among Australia’s best in the Tourism Restaurant and Catering services, according to the Australian Tourism Awards judges.
Noosa Boathouse took home Bronze and was up against six other state finalists in their category of Tourism Restaurant and Catering Services, after winning the Queensland Tourism Awards for the second year in a row in November last year.
Owners Phil Bradford and Danielle and Steve McPharlin said they are excited to have won bronze and are very proud to be representing Queensland Tourism.
“We were up against six of Australia’s best venues, and while the bronze means the world to our team, it is a testament to all the tourism services provided in Noosa,” Danielle said.
The Australian Tourism Awards are the tourism industry’s premier awards program recognising excellence in tourism and Tourism Noosa CEO Damien Massingham said the win was great news for the Noosa Boathouse and is a wonderful acknowledgement of their hard work and commitment to hospitality in Noosa.
“On behalf of Tourism Noosa, we congratulate the team at Noosa Boathouse for the accolade,” he said.
Other nominees for the awards included RACV Noosa Resort and Belmondos Organic Market, who both won gold at the Queensland Tourism Awards in late 2014 which secured them nominations for the Australian Tourism Awards.
“This in itself was a great achievement,” Mr Massingham said.
Almost 1000 people, including over 180 Australian tourism business finalists attended the 30th anniversary of the awards presentation dinner held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 10 April.
Noosa Boathouse adds this bronze to an extensive list of accolades, including gold at the Queensland Tourism Awards in 2013 and 2014, finalist in 2012 and 2011, in addition to the consistent finalist title for Australian Bridal Industry Academy awards in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014.
