THE Anzac flame has travelled the country and will make a brief stop at the Cooroy RSL on 24 April for a special commemoration ceremony.
The flame will be a part of the memorial service to be held outside the Cooroy Memorial Hall, along with a wreath laying and a visit from the 2015 Anniversary Troop Train that will stop in Cooroy while the passengers have lunch.
The commemorative Anzac flame, that symbolises eternal life, was lit in Albany, WA, in October 2014 to commemorate the 11,410 troops of the Australian Imperial Force who gathered there 100 years earlier.
The flame has visited the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and in February, 20 torches were handed by the Australian Federal Guard to RSL branches and sub-branches across the nation.
After making an appearance at the Cooroy RSL, the torch will continue its journey to Brisbane to light the cauldron at Camp Gallipoli in Brisbane Showgrounds on 24 April.
