Top players drawn to carnival

This weekend is set to be huge for the Noosa Tennis Club as it hosts the 7th Annual Noosa Tennis Carnival National Points Tournament for juniors.
There will be more than 100 participants from all over the country and overseas who will play in singles and doubles over the weekend to fight for Australian ranking points and $7000 in prize money at Sunshine Beach.
Seeing the game at this level up close really gives an appreication for the athletism and precision that an elite tennis player needs to survive.
Some local legends that we wish all the best for and to keep an eye on are Electra Hunter, Dakota Brown, Callum, Jarayd and Liam Puttergill, Jack Barnett, Geoff Rafter, Micheal Daily, David McMahon, Liam Gothem Ryan and Jaryd Gunter.
David McMahon, the club professional and founder of the noosa tennis carnival, said the main purpose of the tournament is to raise awareness of the sport at this elite level in Noosa and to give the local up-and-coming players a tournament in their neighbourhood.
The success of the event could not be achieved without the main sponsor Melrose Health and other sponsors Rimini Holiday Apartments, Sandy Court Holiday Units, T Boat Hire, Physiosync and Beach Breakers Resort.
Noosa Tennis Club is at Girraween Court, Sunshine Beach.
