THOUSANDS of books were sold and thousands of dollars raised for local charities at the annual Rotary Club of Noosa Heads Daybreak Bookfest.
Held in the first weekend of May, the annual event raises funds to support local charities with the Hear and Say Centre, Guide Dogs QLD and Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club’s access program, all benefiting this year.
Rotary president Ian McDonald said the event couldn’t have been a bigger success.
“We are very proud to share that the funds raised at this year’s Bookfest will now be used to change the lives of people in our community,” Mr McDonald said.
“We want to share a big ‘thanks’ to all our volunteer helpers, to our sponsors, and to all who came along, enjoyed the event and bought the books.
“The mountain of books on sale over three days once again enabled people in our Noosa region, both young and old, to stock up with piles of books at bargain prices.
“It is Rotary’s pleasure to be able to supply this opportunity to the community in support of local charities, and we thank you for supporting our causes with your purchases.”
If you went in the draw to win the $1,000 cash bonus in the raffle, the winning ticket is number 1945.
