Farewelling a Noosa icon

FRIENDS of the much loved late Noosa icon Peter Reynolds, aka Mimi More, are invited to gather for a celebration of his life on Sunday 25 May from 4pm at Noosa Arts Theatre, followed by some laughter and song at Rococo’s in Hastings Street Noosa.
Peter who appeared in numerous theatre productions at Noosa Arts Theatre, including pantomimes and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, was always the ultimate professional, caring about other cast members, helping with make-up and ensuring pre-show nerves were eased with his laughter and encouraging words.
As cabaret star Mimi More, he loved to entertain with his fabulous gowns, wigs and jewellery which he would often wear when on a night out with friends, attracting admiring and envious glances.
As a friend innumerable people found his the shoulder they could cry on. He never judged, was never too busy. His open arms and home were a refuge for many.
Three years ago, with some idea that time may not be on his side Peter moved to Thailand and found a new lease on life with relaxation, new friends and a new career once again as Mimi More, delighting tourists and locals alike.
However a trip home and a medical check-up revealed that his life would now be measured in months.
Like everything he did, he handled his treatment with humour and incredible optimism, determined to live to the fullest as long as he could. His final visit to Noosa saw an explosion of love, laughter and a few tears when Mimi took the floor at Rococo with great friend Melony Brests.
Peter took his final curtain on 6 April at the home of his sister Ann Clarke, who will bring some of his ashes to scatter at the special memorial day among his Sunshine Coast friends.
To help with the organisation and bookings, friends attending are asked to contact Eileen Walder (5442 8255 or mobile 0420 939 723 or leave message on Facebook). If bringing photos, videos, wishing to speak or perform please let her know what you will need.
