BIMBLEBOX SCREENING

THE documentary Bimblebox will be screened at the NPA Friday Environment Forum on 16 May. The film follows the story of Alpha resident Paola Cassoni and her two-year fight to prevent the Bimblebox Nature Refuge – which she co-owns – from being swallowed by the Galilee Coal Project.
Bimblebox Nature Refuge is a peaceful 8000 hectare sanctuary in central-west Queensland.
If this mine goes ahead, it would represent the most significant impact experienced on a nature refuge to date. You can see this documentary followed by discussion at the Noosa Parks Association Environment Centre, Wallace Drive Noosaville starting at 10.30am. Arrive at 10am when coffee is available. All welcome.

SEWING MAYHEM
Celebrating Sewing MAY hem, the Guilded Lilies Sewing Circle will meet on Saturday 31 May from 9am to 3pm at the Masonic Hall, Moorindil Street, Tewantin. It’s will be a 16th birthday celebration and members to bring a plate to share. Carolyn Lorking will be tutoring the group on how to make a sun hat. THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY
ON Friday 23 May from 7pm, Matthew Holt will be presenting Entities Parasites of the Body of Energy- a thorough, rational approach to understand and explore various parasites of consciousness and negative energies, while putting into perspective old clichés about possession and exorcism. There will be a comprehensive discussion of the shattering of the astral body after death, a topic with major repercussions on the continuation of consciousness from one life to the next and the building of the body of immortality at The Theosophical Society’s public meeting, at the CWA Hall, 123 Poinciana Drive, Tewantin. .All are welcome, with a gold coin donation. NATIONAL SENIORS
THE next meeting of the Tewantin-Noosa National Seniors will be held on Thursday, 22 May, at 1.15pm for a 1.30pm start at the Noosa Catholic Hall, Moorindil Street Tewantin. NETWORK Noosa Social and Networking Group offers an alternative to the high membership fees and expensive weekly breakfast fees of other networking groups. ART EXHIBITION
CHRIS Postle will open the Botanical and Creative Artists Annual Exhibition at the NSACA Wallace House, 7 Wallace Drive in Noosaville. New and individual art works will be presented at the exhibition, which will be open on 6 June at 6pm and on 7-8 June from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED
NoosaCare is are seeking volunteers to assist in the lifestyle and leisure department at Carramar in Tewantin. Diversional therapists Craig and Cathy are looking for mature-minded, responsible, self-motivated, reliable volunteers, with a can-do attitude. A wide variety of activities are offered to residents and volunteers can help in in many areas, from reading, walks and talks to intellectual activities like trivia and crosswords. Arts and crafts are particularly popular with the residents and are another area where help is always welcome.
