NOOSA EAGLES SOCCER
NOOSA under-6 White played against the Buderim Typhoons, defeating them 4-3. This was the team’s first win of the season.
Coach Sam Owen has produced a great little team here. Adler Lenitschek, the pocket rocket of the team, is a dream defender, just getting in and cleaning up near the goal line. Micah Elvy and Kiri Todhunter’s goal-keeping made it difficult for the Buderim Typhoons to get ahead of us.
New to the team, Summer-lille St John has proven to be a fast runner and made some worthy attempts at goal-scoring. Eli Robinson goes from strength and with help from Charlee Benton and Charlee Owen kept the ball up our end of the field for most of the game.
A couple of crafty passes from Will Holmes helped our goal-scorers Eli and Charlee Owen.
Noosa under-6 Gold played the Buderim Blizzards and it was a fantastic game. At half time it was 2-0 in our favour, then in the second half they fought back and scored three great goals, with us scoring one. So a fitting end at a three-all draw. Goal scorers were Eddie Smith 2 and Ben Boden. All the boys played so well. Player of the match was Eddie Smith and the coach’s trophy went to Ben Boden.
Playing an evenly matched Buderim Cubs, the under-7 Gold team unfortunately failed to score, going down 4-0 to the Cubs. Player of the match Xavier Attard put his body on the line and played his most exciting game this season.
Noosa under-8 Black team played against Buderim Cobras with the result 3-2 to Buderim. This week under-8 Black had their first loss for the season going down 3-2 to Buderim Cobras. It was a close game all the way through and could have gone either way. Charlie Drew did an amazing job as goalie blocking over 10 attempts in the first half alone. Alaska Rosenkranz and Ethan Messenger showed some great attacking team work with a beautiful pass from Ethan allowing Alaska to kick one of his two goals. Jaimen Slavin held up well in defence constantly marking the play, while Jake McDonald, Joe Maskell and Keiran Dow all played well keeping their eye on the ball and never giving up. Great work boys.
Under-10 Gold played Buderim Strikers at Good Shepherd Lutheran College, Noosaville. The score was 9-0. Noosa won. Goals scored by Hunter Baistow 4, Innocent Sibanda 3, Ryan Lawton and Bailey Atley. Player of week was Hunter Baistow.
