Weather has teams on the run

By RICHARD MURRIHY

NOOSA SOFTBALL
YOU would not know Caboolture was under water last week as the sun shone brightly on the re-done diamonds this weekend.
The under-15s led from the front with a seven-run first dig to the Demons’ 0. The game went into an even mode after this and ended up 8-3 Noosa’s way. Charles had a good game at catcher and provided four combined outs with Riley at short stop including a set split play (the Johnson). Riley also chimed in with another home run, Shinai also whacked a left-handed, two bagger. Noosa scored seven more runs in the last but it reverted back. Shinae and Dylan pitched well throughout the game.
The 17 Blacks had a 8-7 win while the 17 Whites had a 7-8 loss. Jarred took six catches in centre field and converted two of those to double plays, while Shinai pitched well but had a couple off radar and was supported by Lewis at catcher who had a good game. Josh Sheehan hit a two bagger and a home run in the Blacks’ victory.
The men’s team had a loss and it did not look pretty with a lot of fielding errors. They put a very young team out on the field for experience, as they were playing for grading. It was a good effort by the team.
