Sue enjoys ‘showcasing’ Noosa

Sue Ingram has volunteered for Tourism Noosa for 10 years.

SUE Ingram volunteers for Tourism Noosa, and has been a part of the 95-strong Tourism Noosa volunteer team for over 10 years.
Why do you volunteer?
My main aim when I first joined Tourism Noosa was to get to meet like-minded people in the area as I had retired here from Sydney. I did miss the social interaction of work life and the feeling that at the end of the day you had made a difference.
What do you like most about volunteering?
The opportunity to showcase Noosa. This is not very hard as we have so many great tours, whether they be fishing, cruising the river and lakes … the beautiful river and beaches, and adventure tours, not to mention the many cafes and fabulous restaurants.
One week Noosa can be a quiet coastal town and the next be hosting international events like the Noosa Triathlon, attracting thousands of people to the area. Most of all however, is the feeling of a job done well when someone walks out of the office with a map and information to make their stay here as enjoyable as possible.
What do you love most about Noosa?
Definitely the water. Whether it is walking along the river on Gympie Terrace, taking the dog for a run along Castaways Beach or just swimming in the surf at beautiful Main Beach.
Name one thing on your bucket list.
I have never had a bucket list and don’t plan to make one. What I do is take every opportunity that may come along and look forward to the next.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
That my real name is Jennifer not Sue.
