By KATIE DE VERTEUIL

KIE Wilson-McNaught of Boreen Point has been volunteering with Sunshine Coast Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) since 2002.
Aged 24, he is especially useful with the organisation’s larger riders and is a much-loved member of the RDA team. Born with myotonic dystrophy, Kie volunteers on a weekly basis to give back to a community which has helped inspire his passion for riding and horses.
Why do you volunteer?
Mostly for the fun of it. I have always loved horses and the people you meet are wonderful, too.
What do you like most about volunteering?
For me the best part of volunteering is the social side and being able to ride the horses. It is also incredibly satisfying being able to help others while giving back to the RDA community which helped me. Volunteering is also a great way to get out of the house and into the community.
What do you love most about Noosa?
I love that it is a quiet place and its natural beauty.
Name one thing on your bucket list.
To represent Australia in basketball.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I have a jet ski licence.
