Noosa mum launches mid-strength spirit range

Noosa business owner launches Australia’s first range of mid-strength spirits for mindful drinkers

A Noosa business owner and mother-of-three is creating a new option for people who want to enjoy alcohol thoughtfully without overindulging.

Tahli Watts has launched ENOUGH, the country’s first range of mid-strength spirits, including vodka, gin and agave at 22% ABV (alcohol by volume).

Mrs Watts, also a former athlete, says her local surroundings influenced her thinking around ENOUGH.

“Noosa has this incredible balance between health, nature and lifestyle,” she said.

“People here want to enjoy themselves but also feel good the next day. ENOUGH was born out of that coastal mindset of mindful enjoyment.”

The idea for ENOUGH came during a weekend away with friends, when Mrs Watts realised there was no thoughtful, premium middle ground between full-strength spirits and zero-alcohol options.

“I was tired of choosing between endless cups of tea or getting too drunk too quickly,” she said.

“Too many drinks are obviously not good. But abstaining completely can feel extreme or short-lived.

I wanted to create something that fits into real lives and helps people make healthier choices without missing out.”

“ENOUGH is not about restraint, it’s about balance,” she said.

“It’s for people who love a cocktail but also love waking up clear-headed for a surf, a school run or a gym session.”

Recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows more than one in four adults exceed recommended alcohol guidelines but growing numbers – particularly women – are choosing to drink less or more mindfully.

Local retailers are noticing the trend too, with XO Cellars manager Samuel Gray-Jones saying more customers are looking for lower-alcohol options.

“Drinking is more dynamic than ever before. People are taking time to consider what they drink and as a part of that, many people are now curious about ABV. It would seem there is definitely interest in drinking lighter; lighter in calories and alcohol,” Mr Gray-Jones said.

Crafted from non-GMO Australian wheat and organic agave, ENOUGH spirits are small-batch distilled and bottled in glass with sustainability in mind. Each product offers the flavour, ritual and sophistication of a traditional spirit, but at a lower alcohol level.

“It’s about creating a middle ground that supports health and celebration equally,” she said.

“It’s not anti-alcohol and it’s not indulgent either. It’s a considered choice.”

ENOUGH spirits are available now via www.enoughbeverages.com.au and at select boutique retailers, including XO Cellars.
