Eumundi beer filled with Christmas cheer

Craft beer and rum lovers will be happy to hear about another exciting collaboration between the brew crew at Eumundi Brewery and the team at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery.

Arguably the ultimate Queensland festive season drop this year will be the limited release EU-BUNDY Black Rum and Plum Pudding

Head brewer at Eumundi Brewery Chris Sheehan said the partnership again brings together the best of two Queensland producers – Eumundi Brewery and the Bundaberg Rum Distillery – both with strong local legacies.

“When we released the EU-BUNDY IPA last year, we were blown away by the take up, with people clambering to get hold of it as soon as it went on sale,” Chris said.

“We’re pretty sure this festive drop will be equally loved – and is bound to be popular with those looking for a gift for a beer-loving loved-one, or a special brew to enjoy themselves over the Christmas season.”

Chris says the EU-BUNDY Black Rum and Plum Pudding Ale is a limited release special batch brew that is part Eumundi Brewery, part Bundaberg Rum Distillery.

“It’s a seductive dark ale with all your favourite festive flavours,” Chris said.

“Drinking sweet and rich, with notes of caramel, raisins, fruit and spice, and Blood Plums, all rounded out with Bundaberg Black 12-year-old rum that has been carefully aged on American Oak.”

Duncan Littler from the Bundaberg Rum Distillery is equally excited to welcome the new ale, which he describes as ‘“Christmas in a can”.

“While beer and rum are traditionally from very different drink spheres, we’ve come up with another union of flavours that is a taste sensation.

“And let’s remember that often it is simply too hot in Queensland to enjoy a good ol’ plum pudding on Christmas Day,” Duncan said.

“This chilled and refreshing tasting plum pudd beer will bring that all-essential Christmas cheer.”

The new brew will be on tap from mid-November at a number of hotels and bars throughout Queensland.

A limited release of cartons of the EU-BUNDY Black Rum and Plum Pudding Ale will be exclusively available from the Bundaberg Rum Distillery and The Imperial Hotel Eumundi on Friday 12 November. Additional cartons will be available online from eumundibrewery.com.au and other select stores from Monday 15 November.
