Noosa enjoys a jampacked calendar of events each year and, in addition to Noosa residents having a wide range of wonderful activities happening on our doorstep, events provide an integral and important aspect to the Noosa economy and the community.

Events boost the Noosa economy exponentially, bringing visitors into the Noosa region where they are encouraged to dine out, shop and stay locally in accommodation. Whether they come for one day or stay for longer they often spend money at Noosa’s local businesses, which is especially important after the last two years of COVID-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions.

Noosa events prioritise the use of local performers and local art, particularly in events like the Noosa Open Studios and NOOSA alive!. Noosa Open Studios provides the opportunity for more than 100 local artists to showcase their remarkable work throughout the Noosa Region while NOOSA alive! utilises both local performers and special guests through theatre, music, comedy shows and more.

3. Supports Local Providers

All the events that take place in the Noosa region have the potential to support the local community whether it’s formally or informally. Many of the events that supply food and drinks tend to make use of local vendors, whether it be locally brewed beer or locally grown produce…Therefore, providing local businesses with both financial support and mass exposure.

4. Environmental Gains

At Tourism Noosa we strive to ensure that all events in Noosa are plastic free, which has been very successful. Tourism Noosa and the relevant events use their platforms to promote and inform visitors about the importance of protecting our environment and how they can be a part of the change. This is particularly successful with promotion by big events like the Noosa Triathlon, which is internationally renowned, reaching people from across the world.

5. Utilisation of volunteers

Many of the events utilise volunteers for their events, which is a great way to strengthen the local community and brings together likeminded individuals with similar interests.
