First class care in Cooroy

Pelvic floor issues, incontinence and prolapse are words that over the years have been considered by society as normal women issues and a taboo topic. This is a misconception.

In fact, 65 per cent of women and 30 per cent of men sitting in a GP waiting room, report some type of urinary incontinence, yet only 31 per cent of these people report seeking help from a health professional. Further to this, at least 80 per cent of the population who are female have some form of urinary incontinence which is very concerning to think about.

Eden Private Hospital commonly treats patients with:

– Pelvic organ prolapse.

– Incontinence of bowel.

– Incontinence of bladder (stress, urgency, mixed, overflow).

– Post hysterectomy.

– Chronic pelvic pain misdiagnosed as lower back pain.

The pelvic floor is the foundation for the human body.

Lack of appropriate exercise and management of pelvic floor health can lead to pelvic floor dysfunction and reduced quality of life.

Eden Private Hospital has a very experienced multidisciplinary team which has successfully treated women with pelvic floor dysfunction and assisted with improving quality of life.

Eden is able to provide the following;

Screening of pelvic floor dysfunction and need for referrals to gynaecologist or women’s health physiotherapist.

– Assessments of pelvic floor dysfunction.

– Treatment and rehabilitation for pelvic floor dysfunction.

– Provide education of pelvic floor dysfunction and how to manage/prevent.

It is always important to seek support from your doctor as soon as possible as early intervention is key.

Remember, pelvic floor dysfunction is not a normal ageing process and you should not have to just live with it.
