It is always exciting to plan a travel adventure, especially when we have been grounded for over two years.
No-one is more excited than Deb Taylor, owner of Ciao Italy Tours, as she packs her bag and prepares her groups for two tours of Italy in June.
“My story began 13 years ago when, on a whim, I decided to become a tour guide in Italy,“ Deb said.
“I had never been to Italy. That random decision changed my life forever. I was besotted from day one walking the streets of Rome.
“It was always the plan to create an Italian adventure that is intimate, authentic and filled with local experiences.
“Now, after years of wandering the length and breadth of a country that tugs at your heartstrings and never lets go, the knowledge gained from always being curious, always talking to locals and always learning means an unforgettable holiday in Italy for my travellers.
“A small group of 10 and private transfers from one destination to the next means we can visit hard to reach hilltop medieval villages, stay in centuries-old family-owned small villas in the centro historico, eat where the locals eat, walk a hidden goat trodden path with not a tourist in sight.
“A three-night stay in all of our destinations is the key to enjoying the daily rituals of Italian life.
“I love waking to the bells tolling and the smell of freshly baked bread,“ she said.
“An early morning walk for that first coffee when only the dog walkers are out is a favourite time of the day, whether in Rome or a tiny Tuscan village.
“We have time to wander the local market and delight in buying fresh, seasonal produce, sit on a stone bench in the central piazza and have wonderful conversations with locals, take random turns down tiny cobblestoned alleyways and discover hidden in plain sight unbelievable treasures.
“There is something unusual, something wonderful and something unexpected around every corner.
“This is the Italy that I am passionate about sharing.“
