Get dad down to the gardens

If you haven’t been to a Sunday in the Gardens event, the one this Sunday 4 September is not to be missed.

It’s Father’s Day, and where better to take dad than down to Noosa Botanic Gardens for a morning – or a whole day – out.

Start at 9am with a terrific coffee and snacks from Bus Stop Espresso’s Rob and his famous Cooroy Coffee.

Take a wander through the adjacent Shade Garden and sample some botanical wonders.

Then sit down below the poincianas from 10am and listen to Jay Bishoff, Andrew Higgins and friends play a range of songs through to noon, in a monthly performance that just keeps on growing.

Bring a picnic lunch, so when the music stops, the celebrations start – and capture the essence of early spring as the Gardens lay on a display of magic colours for you.

Bring a chair or mat for the music, bring your dog on a leash – but most importantly, bring your dad!

Noosa Botanic Gardens are located on Lake Macdonald Drive, about 4km out from Cooroy.

For more information on the event – and the upcoming Spring Plant Sale on Saturday 24 September (always a huge event) – visit nooasbotanicgardensfriends.com or check their Facebook page out.
