Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the ‘back to school’ plan which will, if all goes well, see schools resume as normal at the end of the month.
The Premier said that on May 11 Kindy, Prep, Year 1, 11 and 12 students may resume their schooling as normal.
On May 15, the state will review the easing of restrictions, if all goes well all remaining students will be back at school on May 25.
Ms Palaszczuk said the return to classrooms has been made possible thanks to the low community transmissions and infection rate.
This news comes as just three COVID-19 cases were recorded overnight, bringing the state total to 1,038 cases with 980 patients recovered.
The three new cases in Queensland are from overseas, one case from London, Los Angeles and one other from a cruise ship.
There have been 116,650 tests carried out across the state.
